Kalaignar Centenary Celebrations Today in Chennai, Watch Live!

The Kalaignar centenary celebrations, which was supposed to be held on June 3, will be celebrated today, June 7, at 6 pm at the Binny Mills ground in North Chennai. Chief Minister M.K. Stalin had ordered to postpone the event on account of the tragic Odisha train accident.

Poet and DMK leader Vairamuthu Ramaswamy stated, "Kalaignar was a great leader who had spent most of his life working for the upliftment of the people by standing along with them in their struggles. He even shared his grief for the Odisha accident through his centenary anniversary."

CM Stalin, who is also the DMK president, will preside over today's function. Many allied party members like Veeramani, K.S. Azhagiri, Vaiko, K. Balakrishnan, Ra. Mutharasan, K.M. Qadar Moideen, Thol. Thirumavalavan, M.H. Jawahirulla, Eswaran, The. Velmurugan will be participating in the event.

The organisers are also planning to conduct the centenary function all over Tamilnadu. Poetry, essay writing, elocution, quizzes and sports competitions will be orgnised for the students as part of the celebrations.

It serves as a testament to the enduring impact of Kalaignar's contributions and the continued reverence and admiration he holds among the people of Tamil Nadu.
