Has Annamalai Really Made BJP Popular In Tamil Nadu? Chief Minister MK Stalin Responds

For the first time in Tamil Nadu's political history, the BJP has ignited significant attention, particularly on social media platforms. Much of this momentum is credited to the party's state chief, K Annamalai, a former IPS officer.

Consequently, various surveys conducted by English media outlets suggest that the BJP is poised to secure multiple seats with a double-digit vote share, with some pollsters even predicting it to become the second-largest party in terms of vote share.

Has Annamalai Made BJP Popular In TN

Despite the buzz surrounding Annamalai, the DMK has sought to diminish his significance, with senior leader Dayanidhi Maran referring to the BJP state chief as a "joker."

Now, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin has also spoken about Annamalai.

In an interview with The News Minute, Stalin was asked whether the BJP has become popular in the state under Annamalai's leadership. He said, "Not only in Tamil Nadu, across India, the BJP's agenda is to create an imaginary image using media. Other than that I don't think any answer is required to this question."

In the same interview, Stalin stated that the saffron party has no influence in the state and the DMK"s primary opponent continues to be the AIADMK. "The BJP has no influence of its own in Tamil Nadu. They do, however, want to create a hype of having influence. But the peace-loving people of Tamil Nadu will never accept the communal politics of the BJP, their violent activities. The election battle in Tamil Nadu is therefore between the DMK and the AIADMK," he added.

Stalin stated that the BJP is using the weakness of the AIADMK to "imaginary competition, using the media".

He also accused the AIADMK of having a "secret alliance" with the BJP. The DMK leader said, ". In some constituencies, the AIADMK is on silent mode to help the BJP. This is a betrayal of the party cadre by Palanisamy."

The voting for the 39 Lok Sabha seats in Tamil Nadu will be held on Friday.
