Chennai Vegetable Prices: What's Cheaper, What's Costly On June 27?

Chennai's Koyambedu Wholesale Market witnessed a day of stability today (June 27), following a period of notable price fluctuations across various vegetables, DTNext reported.

The price of drumstick, for instance, has shown significant variability recently. Starting at Rs 190 per kg on June 20, it dropped to Rs 120 per kg by June 25, and further decreased to Rs 100 per kg yesterday, a rate that remains unchanged today.

Likewise, lemon prices have seen fluctuations throughout the month. At the beginning of June, lemons were priced at Rs 140 per kg, which decreased to Rs 130 and then to Rs 100 by June 17. Prices continued to decline until June 23, when they reached Rs 80 per kg.

A sudden increase occurred on Monday, pushing the price back up to Rs 130 per kg, only to drop again to Rs 120 per kg on Tuesday. Today, lemons continue to be sold at Rs 100 per kg, maintaining yesterday's rate.

Meanwhile, beans have also witnessed volatility in pricing. Starting at Rs 170 per kg on June 21, the price dropped to Rs 120 per kg the next day, and further plummeted to Rs 70 by June 23. However, a sudden spike on Monday saw beans priced at Rs 120 per kg again, followed by a drop to Rs 100 per kg yesterday, a rate that remains steady today.

The market's recent fluctuations reflect ongoing adjustments in supply and demand dynamics, influencing prices across these essential commodities.
