Chennai Metro Offers Free Ride To CSK Vs SRH Match Today: Know How

In a fan-friendly move, the Chennai Metro Rail Limited (CMRL) has announced free Metro travel for spectators attending the IPL 2025 match between Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) on Friday, April 25.

The initiative is aimed at easing transportation to and from the MA Chidambaram Stadium (Chepauk), where the match is scheduled to take place."The valid match ticket will enable a round-trip journey between the Metro stations," DT Next quoted an official from the CMRL as saying.

The report confirms that people can scan a QR code on their digital or physical tickets to access Metro gates. This functionality allows for two entries and two exits on the Metro system, forming a round trip.

The closest station to the stadium is Government Estate, and fans are encouraged to use it for easier access to Chepauk, the home venue for CSK.

In addition to free travel, CMRL will extend train services to accommodate post-match crowds. The last train from Government Estate Metro Station will depart at 1:00 AM or 90 minutes after the match ends, whichever comes first. This is also directly mentioned in the DT Next report.

Furthermore, passengers interchanging to the Green Line can do so only at Chennai Central, as per the announcement. To ensure smooth operations, entry into Metro stations will be closed 10 minutes before the last train departs.

This travel offer comes as fans prepare to watch a crucial match in IPL 2025. Both CSK and SRH are under pressure, having won only two of their eight matches so far. A loss in this game could severely dent their playoff hopes, making the April 25 clash highly significant.

CSK enters the fixture after a 9-wicket defeat to Mumbai Indians on April 20, while SRH also lost to the same team by 7 wickets on April 23. The match, being held at Chepauk, is a must-win for both teams in the league's 43rd game of the season.
