Chennai Cop Claims Hindus Will Rule India, Muslims, Christians Can Go To Pakistan; Gets Suspended
A traffic inspector, who reportedly said that India will be ruled by Hindus and Muslims and Christians can go to Pakistan if they have any issues with it, has been suspended for hurting religious sentiment.
According to a report in The New Indian Express, P Rajendran, a 1999 batch Sub-Inspector was attached to the Pulianthope TIW (Traffic Investigation Wing), sent an audio message in a WhatsApp group which had his friends from the police department. A retired SSI named Christopher, who is now a priest, had shared a song about Christianity in the group.

This did not go well with Rajendran and sent a voice message in which he made a controversial statement asserting that India is primarily a land of Hindus, and Christians and Muslims are considered minorities in the country.
He allegedly claimed that the majority population should govern the nation. He suggested that those who disagree with this notion are free to move to Pakistan or other Muslim-majority countries. The note concluded with a warning, stating that sending such songs in the future would result in retaliatory songs about Hinduism from him, the daily reported.
As the clip went viral, N M Mylvahanan, Joint Commissioner, Traffic on the orders of Sandeep Rai Rathore, Chennai City Police Commissioner, placed him under suspension.
A police officer told the daily?: "When the voice note went viral on social media, the senior police officers took notice of the issue. Based on the orders of the Commissioner, the Joint Commissioner of Traffic Mylvahanan placed Rajendran under suspension. A departmental inquiry is underway."
