Pathankot attack: Air Force technical area safe

Pathankot, Jan 2: The terrorists who are fighting security forces at the air force station in Pathankot have been contained to a non-operational area. Two of the four terrorists have been killed so far.

Sources say that technical area of the air force station has been secured and no damage has been caused.

All efforts are on to flush out the heavily armed militants officials point out. Meanwhile choppers have been dispatched to the attack sight to assist the security forces who are battling the militants.

There was a red alert across Punjab yesterday after it was reported that four to five terrorists have entered into the state. These men who were dressed in army fatigues had killed a taxi driver before stealing an official vehicle at gun point. The NSG was also immediately pressed into service following this incident and a massive hunt was launched for these men.

The police suspect that it could be the same men who launched the attack at Pathankot as well. The police say that the firing started at 3.30 AM this morning. The terrorists may used the same official car they had stolen to reach the attack site. However at the moment the focus is on flushing out the terrorists who are heavily armed.
