Haryana: Law student gangraped in private university campus


Sonepat, April 13: In a shocking and shameful incident, a first-year law student was gangraped by final year law students inside the private university campus in Sonepat district of Haryana.

According to reports, 20-year-old victim was repeatedly raped on several occasions by the three accused from last two years inside the O P Jindal Global University.


The case came to light on Saturday when the victim narrated her ordeal to the campus authorities, after which her parents were summoned from Delhi. Then, the family filed an FIR against the accused.

Girl also revealed that one of the accused clicked her pictures and blackmailed her by saying "if she revealed the incident to anyone, then pics will be uploaded on social media".

The girl, who took admission in the university in 2013, told police that one of the accused- Hardik Sikri was in a relationship with her.

Later, he introduced her with his two friends- Karan Chhabra and Vikas Garg, who were the two other accused.

The college authorities have reportedly rusticated Sikri and have suspended Chhabra and Garg.

All three accused have been arrested and their mobile phones and laptops have been seized to further prevent dissemination of alleged objectionable photographs.
