College student commits suicide in Haryana

Sonepat, May 24: A second year college student allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself in her hostel room at Khanpur Kala here, police said on Monday.

The body of Anita, a second year BA student at Bhagat Phool Singh Mahila Vishwavidyalaya, was found in her room this morning, they said.

A suicide note was also recovered in which she blamed her parents for her extreme step and said she wanted to live her life on her terms.

The body has been sent for post-mortem and investigation into the matter is underway, they said, adding that her family was informed about her death.
