Odisha Legislative Assembly Election Results 2024 LIVE Updates: The Odisha Assembly election was conducted concurrently with the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. The term of the present assembly, which was elected in 2019, concluded on June 2.

The voting for the 17th Odisha Legislative Assembly was held in four phases on May 13, May 20, May 25 and June 1. The crucial task of counting the votes is to be undertaken on June 4 and the result will be announced on the same day.

Odisha has a total of 147 Assembly constituencies. In the first phase, 28 constituencies went to the polls on May 13. The second and third witnessed voting in 35 and 42 constituencies respectively. The fourth and final phase held elections in 42 seats on June 1.

The main political parties in the contest are Biju Janata Dal, which is contesting on 147 seats, Bharatiya Janata Party on 147 seats, Indian National Congress on 145 seats, and Communist Party of India (Marxist) on 7 seats.

In the 16th assembly elections in Odisha, 147 members were elected. The BJD won 112 seats and formed the state government with Naveen Patnaik as Chief Minister, marking his fifth consecutive term in office. Patnaik has held his position for over 24 years. If he secures another term, he will surpass former Sikkim Chief Minister Pawan Kumar Chamling to become the longest-serving state Chief Minister in India's history.

Other prominent candidates include Pradipta Kumar Naik (BJP), Dilip Kumar Ray (BJP), Sidhant Mohapatra (BJP), Atanu Sabyasachi Nayak (BJD), Pratap Keshari Deo (BJD), Kalikesh Narayan Singh Deo (BJD), Niranjan Pujari (BJD), Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo (BJP), Jayanarayan Mishra (BJP), Sarada Prashad Nayak (BJD), Pratyusha Rajeshwari Singh (BJP), Suresh Pujari (BJP), Prasanna Acharya (BJD), Jagannath Saraka (BJD), Ranendra Pratap Swain (BJD), Pradip Kumar Amat (BJD), Bhaskar Madhei (BJP), Mohan Charan Majhi (BJP), and Niranjan Patnaik (Congress).

Important constituencies in the state are Hinjili, Kantabanji, Digapahandi, Nayagarh, Bhandaripokhari, Sambalpur, Brajarajnagar, Jharsuguda, Rourkela, Pipili, Anandpur, and Keonjhar.
