Death toll of hospital fire in bhubaneshwar rises to 22
Bhubaneshwar, Oct 21: The toll in the hospital fire here rose to 25 today with the death of a 24-year-old person, while the arrested founder-president of the trust that ran the medical facility was remanded to police custody for two days.
A patient, who was shifted from the fire-ravaged private hospital on Monday night after the mishap, died at the SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack, hospital Superintendent P C Rath said.

The victim was identified as S K Qurban, who had been undergoing treatment in the trauma ICU of SCB Medical College and Hospital, he said. Qurban was suffering from acute trauma after the fire, besides his other illness.
Manoj Ranjan Nayak, founder president of 'Sikshya O Anusandhan Charitable Trust' that ran the SUM Hospital here, was arrested after he surrendered at Khandagiri police station in the wee hours yesterday.

Nayak was last evening produced before Sub-Divisional Judicial Magistrate Kamala Kanta Nayak who sent him on police remand for two days.
A team of police took Nayak to an undisclosed place for interrogation this morning, a police oficial said.
Tension prevailed outside Jharpara jail, where he was lodged last night as his police remand startedfrom today, when a group of people attacked Nayak and manhandled media persons when police came to take him this morning.
Four persons were taken into custody as media persons lodged FIR against the attackers, he said.
