SIMI explosives expert surrenders in Bhopal court
Bhopal, Jan 23: An explosives expert of banned outfit SIMI surrendered in the district court here following which he was sent in custody till February 8.
Majid Nagori (35), a resident of Mahidpur near Ujjain surrendered yesterday. He was wanted for violations of the explosives substances Act, the Chief of the Madhya Pradesh ATS Sanjeev Shami told PTI today.
The ATS chief said that police had announced an award of Rs 15,000 each for those giving information about Nagori, Sajid also from Mahidpur and Gulrez from Indore (both SIMI activists, who are absconding).
Meanwhile, Nagori's counsel, Parvez Alam told reporters that his client is innocent and that they have not received any chargesheet so far.
Nagori is only an accused under the Explosives Act and Unlawful Activities Prevent Act (UAPA), he said.
