MP Raj Bhavan declines to share action taken on Ajay's letters

Bhopal, Oct 6: The Madhya Pradesh Governor's office has declined to share the action taken report on letters by Congress leader Ajay Singh seeking details on re-convening Legislative Assembly session in July.
"It has been informed by the department concerned that the information desired by you is confidential and hence cannot be given," the reply from the Governor's office said in response to an RTI query filed by activist Ajay Dubey.
Dubey had sought details on action taken on letters written by Singh to Madhya Pradesh Governor Ram Naresh Yadav in connection with the Assembly session.
The Monsoon Session of the Assembly was adjourned sine-die by Speaker Ishwardas Rohani on July 11 amid din over no-confidence motion moved by Congress.
A day after, Leader of the Opposition Ajay Singh wrote to the Governor asking him to direct the government to re-convene the session so that it could discuss the no-confidence motion moved by his party.
he governor had then purportedly written to Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan asking him to convene a special session to complete the unfinished business of the Assembly.
Singh again wrote to the Governor on August 8 seeking copy of his letter to the Madhya Pradesh government. "It has come to my notice on the basis of media reports and press conference by former Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh Sundarlal Patwa that you had written to government to convene assembly session.
I will be happy to get a copy of that letter," Singh had said in the letter. Dubey said, "The Governor's office has wrongly denied information. I will file an appeal against it.
The letter to convene the session again should not be written to the government but to the Speaker of Legislative Assembly." On July 11, the Assembly was to take up the debate on the no-trust motion moved by the Opposition against the BJP government.
This had led to pandemonium and later adjournment of the session by the Speaker.
As Singh rose to speak, Deputy Leader of Congress Legislature Party Choudhary Rakesh Singh Chaturvedi raised objections over the contents of the motion and expressed his lack of confidence in it.
Chaturvedi resigned from Congress and later defected to BJP.
Industries Minister Kailash Vijaywargiya had then intervened in the matter and said since one of the members of the Opposition had expressed no-confidence in the motion, it stands nullified as per the rules.
This had led to pandemonium and later adjournment of the session by the Speaker.
