Of the seven prisoners who fled the jail, one Abid Mirza was later caught and brought back. He was booked for planting a bomb in a local hospital.
The other six are Amjad, Aslam, Zakir, Mehboobm, Ejazuddin and Abu Faizal. They were charged of assaulting a policeman in the state. The police tried to establish a link between them and a radical SIMI activist but the case did not appear strong. But now, after the six having fled the jail, the police believe they have a stronger case against them.
