Doctor gives blood transfusion to wrong patient
Harda (MP), Aug 14: A woman suffering from fever and headache was given blood meant for her namesake who was being treated for a kidney ailment at the same district hospital, a medical official said on Friday.
"An inquiry has been ordered into the matter. The doctor and nurse found guilty of yesterday's wrong blood transfusion will be punished," Chief Medical and Health Officer (CMHO) R C Udaniya told PTI today.

"Instead of transfusing B positive blood to my mother-in-law Saroj Chandra (65), the duty doctor and nurse gave it to Saroj (35), the wife of one Sanjay, who is suffering from headache and fever," Ajay Gorkha said.
He said that within ten minutes, Sanjay's wife became critical. When she complained about uneasiness and vomited, the doctor and nurse on duty immediately disconnected blood supply which was being transfused to her.
