Constable shoots himself dead with service rifle in Rajasthan

Neemuch (MP), Nov 30: A police constable allegedly shot himself dead with his service rifle after returning from patrolling duty in Ratangarh town near here.

Jagdish Katara (22) took the extreme step late last night. He shot himself in the chest with his service rifle at the gate of Ratangarh police station, Superintendent of Police Manoj Kumar Singh said today.
Katara's colleagues rushed him to a hospital where doctors declared him brought dead. A case under relevant sections has been registered in this regard, the SP said, adding that it appears he took the extreme step because of some family dispute.
After autopsy, the body will be taken to his hometown, Bajna, in neighbouring Ratlam district. Katara joined Madhya Police as a constable in 2012.
