Ranveer Singh Visits Chamundeshwari Temple in Mysuru Hours After Bollywood ‘Ban’ Controversy

Ranveer Singh is facing two parallel developments, with attention on both a religious apology and an industry dispute. Hours after a non-cooperation directive from FWICE over the Don 3 issue, Ranveer Singh travelled to Karnataka. The actor visited Mysuru's Chamundeshwari Temple as part of a Karnataka High Court direction linked to the Kantara controversy.

The Federation of Western India Cine Employees, or FWICE, announced on Monday that it would not cooperate with Ranveer Singh. The body said Ranveer Singh did not attend any meeting despite repeated calls. FWICE claimed three reminders were sent, asking Ranveer Singh to appear and explain matters related to Don 3.

Ranveer Singh and Don 3 dispute with FWICE

FWICE stated that its decision followed a complaint from Farhan Akhtar, received more than a month earlier. Farhan Akhtar reportedly approached the federation after Ranveer Singh's exit from Don 3. The film had been announced in August 2023 by Excel Entertainment, with a teaser presenting Ranveer Singh as the new Don.

According to reports on the complaint, Farhan Akhtar alleged that Ranveer Singh backed out shortly before filming. The actor is said to have withdrawn around three weeks before the unit was set to start shooting. This move allegedly led to heavy financial losses for the production company handling Don 3.

After FWICE issued the non-cooperation directive, a spokesperson for Ranveer Singh released a detailed statement. The spokesperson said, "Ranveer Singh holds the highest regard for the film fraternity and for everyone associated with the Don franchise. Throughout the recent developments surrounding Don 3, he has consciously chosen to maintain silence, believing that professional discussions and personal equations are best handled with dignity, maturity, and mutual respect."

The spokesperson's note continued by addressing the debate around Ranveer Singh and Don 3. It read, "While several narratives and speculations have surfaced over time, Ranveer has never considered it necessary to respond publicly or contribute to conjecture. His focus remains firmly on his work and the commitments ahead." The spokesperson added that Ranveer Singh was choosing "restraint" while the controversy unfolds.

Ranveer Singh temple visit in Kantara controversy

Early on Tuesday morning, hours after the FWICE move, Ranveer Singh was seen at Mumbai airport. Ranveer Singh then flew to Karnataka and travelled to the Chamundeshwari Temple near Mysuru. Visuals shared online showed Ranveer Singh offering prayers at the temple, set on Chamundi Hills, and seeking blessings at the shrine.

The visit by Ranveer Singh followed directions issued by the Karnataka High Court in a case related to the Kantara row. The matter concerns allegations that Ranveer Singh mimicked the Daiva act at a public event in 2025. In March, the court instructed Ranveer Singh to go to the Chamundeshwari Temple and apologise directly to the deity.

Ranveer Singh agreed to follow the court's instructions and submitted a written apology last month. The Karnataka High Court accepted this written apology but added another condition. Ranveer Singh was ordered to visit the temple in person within four weeks, and the actor has now completed that visit within the specified time frame.

With the court-ordered temple visit now completed, Ranveer Singh remains under the shadow of FWICE's non-cooperation directive. The developments place Ranveer Singh at the centre of both a legal matter linked to religious sentiments and an industry dispute over Don 3, with future steps likely to depend on talks between the parties involved.
