Rail roko in K'taka: Don't panic, have a safe journey, says railway police

Bengaluru, Sept 15: The Karnataka Railway police says that all trains in the state are running as per schedule. There is no cause for panic, the police also say.

Security is high at the railway stations especially at Mandya as pro-Kannada activists plan to stage a rail roko to protest the Cauvery Waters verdict in which Karnataka was asked to release water to Tamil Nadu. In Mandya several protestors who tried to stage the rail rokho were detained by the police.

The railway police also says that there is no need to panic and believe any rumours. Further the police also added that tight security was in place to ensure that no untoward incident takes place.

There is tight security at the Bengaluru railway station as well, the police also adds. Trains from the Bengaluru city, Cantonment and Yeshwanthpur railway stations are running as per schedule, the police also added.

Police officials also say that they do not anticipate any trouble at the railways stations as precautionary measures have been taken. The police further state that the situation at all the railway stations across the state the situation is peaceful.

None of the commuters have faced any difficulty, the police also adds. Further in a message to all the commuters, the police say that none will have any problem in reaching the station as local buses, autos and taxi services are running normally.
