Premeditated Murder? Key Evidence Found In Suchana Seth's Hotel Room In Goa

The discovery of empty cough syrup bottles in the Goa apartment where Suchana Seth, the 39-year-old CEO of artificial intelligence startup Mindful AI Lab, allegedly killed her four-year-old son has cast a dark shadow over the already tragic case, suggesting the possibility of premeditation.

The postmortem further revealed that the child was smothered, potentially with a cloth or pillow, according to officials.

Suchana Seth, the accused, purportedly committed the act in a Candolim apartment in Goa, transporting the child's body in a bag to Karnataka via taxi, as per police reports. Her arrest in Chitradurga, Karnataka, on Monday night led to her return to Goa on Tuesday.

An officer revealed that during the scrutiny of the service apartment, two empty cough syrup bottles-a large and a small one-were discovered. "Post-mortem hints at the possibility of smothering, and signs of struggle were absent," the officer mentioned.

"We're exploring the likelihood of the child being administered a potent dose of cough syrup," stated the official, highlighting the accused's purchase request for a small bottle due to alleged cough, speculating that she might have carried the larger bottle herself.

The official concluded, "It appears to be a premeditated murder." Despite the accused denying involvement and claiming the child was already deceased when she woke, authorities remain skeptical, attributing possible motives to estrangement between her and her husband.

Following her arrest, a Mapusa court remanded Seth in police custody for six days. Meanwhile, the child's father arrived in Chitradurga from Jakarta, claiming the body after postmortem.

Dr. Kumar Naik of Hiriyur Taluk Hospital noted, "The child died due to strangulation, possibly by a cloth or pillow, ruling out manual strangulation."
