PM Modi’s Bengaluru Visit: Traffic Restrictions Announced From 8 am on THESE Roads

Bengaluru traffic alert: The Garden city will face major traffic diversions and parking bans on Sunday, August 10, 2025, as Prime Minister Narendra Modi visits to inaugurate the Namma Metro Yellow Line and launch new Vande Bharat Express trains.

Bengaluru Traffic Police has announced traffic restrictions during PM Modi's visit on Saturday.

From 8:30 AM to 12:00 PM: Marenahalli Main Road (Rajalakshmi Junction to Marenahalli 18th Main Road), Marenahalli East End Main Road Junction to Aravind Junction.

From 9:30 AM to 2:30 PM: Silk Board to Hosur via Electronic City Elevated Flyover and Hosur Road, and Hosur to Bengaluru city.

Restrictions will also be in place on roads in Electronic City Phase 1 - Infosys Avenue, Velankani Road, and HP Avenue Road.

As per the Karnataka Chief Minister's Office, PM Modi will be in Bengaluru for about four hours, attending three key public programs:

10:30 AM - Arrival at HAL Airport, followed by helicopter and road travel to KSR Bengaluru City Railway Station.

Event 1: Flag-off of three Vande Bharat Express services:

Bengaluru to Belagavi

Amritsar to Katra (Sri Mata Vaishno Devi)

Nagpur (Ajni) to Pune

11:45 AM - Arrival at Ragigudda Metro Station to board the Yellow Line metro to Electronics City.

Event 2: Inauguration of the Yellow Line and foundation stone laying for Namma Metro Phase 3 at IIIT-B.

2:45 PM - Departure from Bengaluru to Delhi.

Roads Closed & Traffic Restrictions - August 10, 2025

Traffic Police Bengaluru has issued traffic restrictions between 8:30 AM and 2:30 PM on several key routes due to VIP movement and expected large crowds.

Routes to Avoid:

Marenahalli Main Road - Rajalakshmi Junction to Marenahalli 18th Main Road, and East End Main Road Junction to Aravind Junction.

Electronics City Elevated Expressway - Both directions.

Hosur Road - Both directions.

Electronics City Phase 1 internal roads - Infosys Avenue, Velankani Road, HP Avenue Road.

Alternative Routes for Motorists

To avoid congestion during PM Modi's visit, commuters are advised to take the following alternate routes:

Rajalakshmi Junction → Jayadeva Hospital: Sarakki Market Road - 9th Cross Road - IG Circle - RV Dental Junction - Jayadeva Hospital.

To Bannerghatta Road: Divert from Sarakki Junction via Outer Ring Road.

4th Main Road → Jayadeva Hospital: Rajalakshmi Junction - Sarakki Main Road - IG Circle - RV Dental route - Bannerghatta Road.

East End Circle → Banashankari: 29th Main Road - 28th Main Road - Delmia Junction - Outer Ring Road - Sarakki Junction - Kanakapura Road.

Hosur Road → Kanakapura, Mysuru, Tumakuru Roads: Jigani Road - Bommasandra Junction - NICE Road.

NICE Road Users → Hosur: Exit at Bannerghatta Junction - Jigani Road - Bommasandra Junction.

Hosur Road → Sarjapur, Varthur, Whitefield, Hoskote: Dommasandra Road from Chandapura Junction.

HSR Layout/Koramangala/Bellandur/Whitefield → Hosur: Sarjapur Road - Chandapura.

Within Electronics City Phase 1: Use 2nd Cross Road, Shikaripalya Road, Hulimangala Road, Gollahalli Road.
