Karnataka Weather Alert: After light to moderate showers hit Bandipur, MM Hills, and Sirsi on Monday, several parts of Karnataka are bracing for more rainfall. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a forecast alert for heavy rain in Kodagu, Mysuru, and Chamarajanagar districts over the next three hours. Widespread rainfall is expected today in Chikkamagaluru, Hassan, Kodagu, Mysuru, and Chamarajanagar.

Weather in Bengaluru and Other Cities

Bengaluru is expected to experience partly cloudy skies with light rainfall over the next two days. The maximum temperature is likely to be around 33°C, while the minimum may hover near 23°C.

April 10: A drop in sunshine is expected as clouds dominate the sky. Light showers are likely throughout the day.

April 11: The mercury may dip slightly, with a high of 33°C. Cloudy skies and light rain are on the cards.

April 12: Temperatures will stay on the cooler side, ranging between 21°C and 33°C. Light rain is expected to persist under mostly cloudy conditions.

April 13: The rainy spell continues, with stable temperatures between 21°C and 33°C.

April 14: The sky will begin to clear, making way for a mix of sun and clouds. Temperatures will hold steady.

Elsewhere in the state:

Kalaburagi recorded a scorching 39.8°C

Karwar saw 36.4°C, above the seasonal average

Honnavar and Panambur recorded 33°C and 34°C, respectively

Rain Damage in Shivamogga

On Saturday night, lightning and rain caused damage in Munduvalli Village, Shivamogga district. A house suffered lakhs worth of loss due to a lightning strike. Over 93 bags of areca nuts were destroyed, and farming machinery was also damaged. Strong winds uprooted electric poles, causing a loss of around Rs 2 lakh to MESCOM. Tree branches fell on electric wires in Anandpuram and nearby villages, disrupting road and power connectivity.

Rain to Continue Till April 12 in Karnataka

According to the IMD, rainfall is expected to continue across Karnataka until April 12. Heavy rain is likely in coastal and Malnad regions, which could bring some relief to farmers battling dry conditions. However, rain-induced damage and power outages remain a concern in many parts.
