Karnataka Moral Policing Case: 7 Men Thrash Interfaith Couple In Hotel Room In Haveri District
A group of six to seven Muslim men assaulted and verbally abused an interfaith couple staying at a hotel in Karnataka's Haveri district, as reported by the police.
The incident occurred on January 7, and the victims reported their ordeal to the police, leading to the registration of a case against the perpetrators. Two individuals have been arrested so far.

Upon learning that an interfaith couple had booked a hotel room, the group of men forcibly entered the hotel, opened the door to the couple's room, and subjected them to physical assault.
During the attack, the Muslim men verbally abused the couple and recorded video footage of the woman while abusing her.
Anshu Kumar, the Superintendent of Police (SP) in Haveri, stated, "Two arrests have been made, and we are further identifying the accused. We will arrest three to four more people soon." He clarified that the attackers were locals and not associated with any particular organization.
Initially treated as an assault case, the police have now considered adding additional charges based on the victims' statements. These charges may include kidnapping, outraging the modesty of a woman, assaulting a woman, and attempted murder, according to SP Kumar.
