Karnataka 7th Pay Commission Proposes 27.5% Salary Hike For Govt Employees: How Much Salary Will Increase?
Just before the Model Code of Conduct comes into effect ahead of the Lok Sabha elections, the Karnataka government has received the 7th Pay Commission report that has recommended a 27.5 per cent hike in pay to Karnataka government employees.
What's in the report?
The report highlights a minimum basic salary of Rs. 17,000, with a recommendation to increase it to Rs. 27,000. In addition to this significant adjustment, numerous other recommendations have been outlined. The comprehensive report has been forwarded to the Economic Department for evaluation.

After conducting a thorough analysis of the report's contents, the Economic Department has affirmed that the government will make decisions based on the suggestions provided.
How much government employees will get a hike if the recommendation is implemented?
Should the government proceed with implementing the final report, government employees can expect a significant increase in their minimum salary, rising from Rs 17,000 to Rs 27,000 per month.
Speaking at a press meet, the Karnataka Chief Minister said that the tenure of the committee headed by former chief secretary K Sudhakar Rao completed on March 15. "I was in Mysuru, so I could not accept the report yesterday," he said.
"The government will review the report and take an appropriate decision. The pay commission period was extended by three months. This period ended on March 15. The report recommends raising the minimum basic pay from Rs 17,000 to Rs 27,000. Along with this, the report has been given to the Finance Department with many other recommendations. The government will take a decision based on the recommendations given by the finance department after a thorough study of the report," a post on X from his office read.
Commission members PB Ramamurthy, Srikanth Vanahalli, Economic Advisor to the Chief Minister Basavaraja Rayareddy, Additional Chief Secretary to the Chief Minister LK Atiq, Dr KV Trilokchandra and Finance Department Secretary Dr PC Jafar were present at the press meet.
Recently, the Karnataka government approved the revision of Dearness Allowance (DA) for state government employees from the existing 38.75 per cent to 42.5 per cent.
The DA will be revised from 46 per cent to 50 per cent for the employees drawing central pay scales, a statement from the government said.
