'I've Been Groped And Violated': Bengaluru Woman Shares Horrifying Late-Night Assault On The Way Home
In a disturbing incident, a Reddit user shared a deeply troubling experience of harassment and assault that she experienced late at night while returning home from the airport in Bengaluru.
The redditor began her post by recounting the harrowing incident that unfolded as she made her way back home. It was around 11 pm when she got down from the Kempegowda International Airport (KIA) bus at Vijay Nagar and proceeded towards Kengeri. She then decided to walk to her friend's place, which was conveniently located near the main road, she hoped to avoid inconveniencing her friend at that late hour.

However, what followed next was a nightmare. The poorly lit streets created an unsettling ambiance as she noticed two men following her closely. In a matter of moments, they caught up to her. The limited light from the few working street lights accentuated the gravity of the situation as they began to taunt and harass her, questioning her choice of clothing at that late hour.
Attempting to shrug off the unwanted attention, the victim found herself cornered as one of the men held her hand while the other subjected her to groping and inappropriate advances. The assailants took advantage of the poorly lit surroundings, making it even more challenging for her to navigate the distressing situation.

It took the victim a few seconds to comprehend the severity of the assault. Fearing for her safety, she screamed for help at the top of her lungs. Fortunately, a passing car came to her aid, causing the perpetrators to flee. The driver offered assistance by providing a safe ride, undoubtedly preventing further harm.
However, the disheartening part of the incident was the response of the Good Samaritan. Instead of unequivocal support, the lady in the car shockingly suggested that incidents like these could be avoided by refraining from wearing certain clothes at night, further victim-blaming the survivor.
The redditor concluded her post by expressing her struggle to process the traumatic experience, labeling it as the worst encounter of her life.

However, a user raised concerns about the legitimacy of the account from which the post originated, pointing out that it was created just five days ago.
The skeptical user commented, "Account created just 5 days ago, so I'm skeptical. Nevertheless... Firstly, if this is indeed a real incident, report to the nearest police station with a lawyer and let them handle the jerks. Don't let it pass because it could be another victim tomorrow."
Meanwhile, days after the post went viral, the original post was deleted by the reddit user.
