Gruha Lakshmi Scheme Application WhatsApp Number: How To Submit The Link Using Chatbot?

The Karnataka government has introduced a chatbot to facilitate applications for the Gruha Lakshmi scheme, resulting in over seven lakh women successfully submitting applications for the monthly subvention of Rs 2,000 for female heads of households.

Developed by the Centre for e-Governance, the chatbot communicates with applicants and provides guidance throughout the application process. Officials claim that women heads of households can complete the application in less than three minutes if they have all the required documents ready.

To interact with the chatbot, women can use text messages on WhatsApp, connecting to the chatbot through the phone number 8147500500. This user-friendly approach is currently employed at BangaloreOne, KarnatakaOne, and GramaOne offices to accept applications. This innovative use of chatbot technology marks the government's first application of chatbots, typically utilized by companies for customer support.

The Gruha Lakshmi scheme, one of five flagship schemes launched by the Congress government, offers eligible women heads of households a monthly subvention of Rs 2,000 from the government. As of last week, more than 94 lakh women have applied for the Gruha Lakshmi scheme, with over seven lakh of these applications being received through the chatbot. This scheme reportedly incurs an annual cost of Rs 17,500 crore for the government.

Furthermore, the government is reportedly planning to extend the use of chatbots to receive applications for the smart cards project under the Shakti scheme. This scheme enables women residents of Karnataka to travel for free on state-run ordinary buses.
