D K Ravi case: CBI team meets Karnataka govt officers
Bengaluru, April 23: A meeting of a CBI team was held with the additional secretary home department in connection with the D K Ravi case. The meeting was more of a formality and signals the commencement of the probe into the death of IAS officer D K Ravi.
The CBI in its meeting sought few details of the case and also urged the additional secretary for facilities during the duration of the probe. [D K Ravi death probe: CBI says driver crucial to probe]
IAS officer D K Ravi was found hanging at his apartment last month. The government said it was a case of suicide due to personal reasons but the opposition suspected foul play due to which a CBI probe was ordered.
Routine checking on
The CBI team is conducting routine checks relating to the case. They will question the driver, his parents and also hold meetings with the CID team which probed the case first. [D K Ravi case: CBI officially starts probe]
Ravi's wife, colleague and father in law too would be questioned by the CBI.
So far there is no question of any arrest as the investigations are still at a very preliminary stage.
There is still a lot of verification of records including the autopsy/postmortem report and the various statements that have been recorded before the CID.
