"I wanted to meet everyone on my birthday and personally convey my wishes. However, due to my illness, that is not possible. I am unable to stand for long periods, and I need to undergo surgery. Additionally, I have pending movie commitments that I must complete," Darshan said in the video. Currently, he is undergoing medical treatment.

Despite his absence from public celebrations, birthday wishes have poured in for Darshan from fans, friends, and colleagues in the film industry.

His wife, Vijayalakshmi Darshan, shared a heartfelt message along with a black-and-white blurred photograph, symbolising her deep emotions and support for him.

His son, Vineesh Darshan, also extended his birthday wishes on social media, writing, "Happy Birthday, Appa!"

Actress and producer Rakshita Prem, who shares a close bond with Darshan, posted an emotional note on social media.

"This day is special... why? Because it is the birthday of someone very dear to me. I cherish the beautiful moments spent with him and wish him nothing but the best in life. May this year bring him happiness, success, and everything he desires," she wrote.
