DA Hike News: Karnataka Employees Get Diwali Bumper Gift as Dearness Allowance Rate Hiked by 2%

During the Diwali festival, government employees in Karnataka have received a pleasant update. The state government has announced a 2% increase in the Dearness Allowance (DA). This adjustment will be effective from July 1, 2025, raising the DA rate from the current 12.25% to 14.25% of the basic salary.

The central government had previously approved an additional 3% DA for its employees just before Vijayadashami. Following this, it is customary for state governments to implement similar increases for their employees. This move by Karnataka aligns with this tradition.

Dearness Allowance Increase

To balance the hike, the central government also sanctioned an additional instalment of DA for its employees and Dearness Relief (DR) for pensioners. This decision aims to support both active and retired personnel amidst rising living costs.
