D K Ravi death- Common man still believes it wasn't suicide says BJP
A united opposition had cornered the Siddaramaiah government over the IAS officer's death demanding that the case be handed over to the CBI.
A day after OneIndia reported about the CBI filing a closure report in IAS officer D K Ravi's case, the BJP continues to play safe over it being a case of suicide. The CBI report has come as a mark of vindication to the Congress government.
"I don't think it (the report) is embarrassing for the BJP is any way. CBI query was not just our demand. It was the people's demand. People still believe that it was not a case of suicide. They believe that it was a case of induced suicide", BJP leader Suresh Kumar told OneIndia.

A united opposition had cornered the Siddaramaiah government over the IAS officer's death demanding that the case be handed over to the CBI. Direct allegations were made against then Home Minister K J George for threatening the IAS officer. The BJP and the JD(S) had joined hands in thrashing the interim report by the CID that had declared his death as suicide due to personal reasons.
"We are yet to see the report. We won't be able to comment until we see the text of the report and what the CBI has said exactly. What about the phone calls that D K Ravi received from politicians? JD(S) was also with us in protesting against the congress government", Suresh Kumar said.

The Congress however has said that the decision to file the report in the assembly is yet to be taken. "Do not know if it would be required to table the report in the assembly. Yes the announcement to transfer the case to CBI was made on the floor of the house but that doesn't necessarily mean that the report should be made public", a senior Congress member said.
