Boy Breaks Leg While Playing Adventure Game In Bengaluru Orion Mall; Complaint Filed
A distressing incident occurred at Orion Mall in Rajajinagar, Bengaluru, where a young boy suffered a broken leg while engaging in an adventure game. The mishap took place on Thursday when 16-year-old Makar Niranjan was playing at the Bounce INC Trampoline Facility located on the mall's fourth floor. This unfortunate event has sparked concerns regarding the safety of adventure games within malls, highlighting the need for stringent safety measures.
Following the incident, Patrick Kumar, Niranjan's father, filed a complaint alleging that the mall staff failed to provide adequate first aid and delayed hospital admission by 45 minutes. Kumar criticized the mall for not having an ambulance or proper medical facilities on-site and for not clearly explaining safety procedures to his son before the game. These allegations have led to a case being registered at the Subramanya Nagar police station against the bouncer of Orion Mall.

In a separate incident in Banaswadi, Bengaluru, a two-year-old child named Kandamma was severely injured after being attacked by a pitbull dog on December 23. The attack, which occurred while the child was in his mother's arms, resulted in serious injuries, including the loss of the child's shoulder. The dog, belonging to a neighbor, reportedly attacked the child in an attempt to escape. This horrifying event adds to the concerns regarding safety in residential areas, especially for children.
The treatment for the injuries sustained by Kandamma has placed a significant financial burden on the family. Nabraj and Anushka, the child's parents who had moved to Bengaluru from Nepal for work two months prior, are struggling to pay the hospital bills. Living in a rented house in Subbanapalya, Venkataswamy Palya, Banaswadi, the couple, employed at a private hotel, now faces a daunting hospital bill of 80 thousand rupees.
These incidents underscore the critical need for enhanced safety measures in both public entertainment venues like malls and residential areas to prevent such accidents and attacks. The safety of adventure games in malls, in particular, has come into question, prompting a reevaluation of the precautions and emergency services available to patrons. As families continue to frequent these establishments for leisure and entertainment, ensuring their safety becomes paramount.
