In recent years, Bengaluru has experienced several devastating blasts, each leaving a profound mark on the city's landscape. One such incident occurred at a popular cafe in Bengaluru's Brookefield area, where a blast injured at least nine people.

Reports indicate that the Bengaluru police have briefed Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah about the blast, attributing it to an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) concealed inside a bag within the cafe. On July 25, 2008, a series of nine bombs exploded in different parts of Bangalore, including Madiwala, Nayandahalli, and Adugodi. These low-intensity crude bombs, triggered by timers, resulted in one death and 20 injuries. The blasts were suspected to be orchestrated by groups like the Students Islamic Movement of India (SIMI) or Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT).

2010 Chinnaswamy Stadium Blast: On April 17, 2010, a bomb exploded outside the Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore just before an Indian Premier League (IPL) cricket match. While no one was injured, the blast caused panic among spectators.

2013 Malleswaram Blast: On April 17, 2013, a low-intensity bomb exploded near the BJP office in Malleswaram area of Bangalore, injuring 16 people. The blast occurred shortly before a scheduled election rally by BJP leader Ananth Kumar.

2014 Bengaluru Church Street Blast: On December 28, 2014, a bomb exploded on Church Street in Bangalore, killing one person and injuring several others. The blast occurred outside a popular restaurant, and investigations pointed towards a suspected terror attack.

2020 Bengaluru Blast: A suspected low-intensity blast late Wednesday evening in Shanthinagar resulted in burn injuries for three-time Congress MLA NA Harris and six others. The incident, which occurred around 8:30 pm during a cultural programme, caused a stir in central Bengaluru.
