AP College Conditions Exposed: Akhila Priya Slams YSRCP's 'Haunted House' In Allagadda - OI Exclusive

In a recent interview with OneIndia, former Andhra Pradesh Tourism Minister and Allagadda TDP MLA Bhuma Akhila Priya made startling claims about the mismanagement of educational institutions in the state under the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) regime.

She highlighted the concerning condition of a Government Degree College in Allagadda, which she asserts has been severely neglected, raising serious questions about the quality of education being provided.

Bhuma Akhila Priya On College Conditions

Akhila Priya drew attention to a fundamental flaw in the functioning of the degree college students being promoted without access to essential educational facilities. "You won't believe me if I tell you this," she began, referencing the lack of a functional laboratory for chemistry students. "Chemistry students require a lab to perform experiments. There are no labs in this college, yet students are promoted every year. How did third-year students get to their third year? They should have performed experiments, given practicals, right? How exactly were they promoted without any of this?"

This issue has brought to light the severe shortcomings of the college, which Akhila Priya believes reflects the broader failings of the YSRCP government. She noted that the former YSRCP legislator, who had been boasting about bringing a degree college to Allagadda for five years, had done little to improve the actual conditions. According to Akhila, the college operates out of a 100-year-old building, originally donated for a school and junior college, which is now in dire need of repairs. "The college doesn't have a new building. There's no roof in certain places, no washrooms, and the campus looks like a haunted house. There is inadequate staff, and students are forced to clean the premises themselves because there are no sweepers," she described.

Akhila's allegations have sparked significant controversy, as she continues to hold the Jagan Mohan Reddy-led YSRCP government accountable for the dilapidated state of the institution. The lack of basic infrastructure, proper staffing, and facilities has, according to her, severely impacted the students' education and overall experience.

In addition to her criticism of the educational sector, Akhila Priya also addressed the political challenges she has faced under the YSRCP regime. Referring to her recent claim of maintaining a "red book" containing the names of individuals who allegedly troubled her during YSRCP's five-year rule, she clarified that this list is meant for those who went against the law to file false cases against her. "Those who haven't done anything wrong need not worry. Fear pertaining to the system and law needs to be instilled. All those who broke the law to satisfy their political masters will face the brunt of the law," she asserted.

Akhila Priya's revelations about the condition of the Government Degree College in Allagadda and her strong stance against those she claims have wronged her have reignited the political discourse in Andhra Pradesh. Her statements have raised concerns not just about the quality of education in the state but also about the broader governance issues under the YSRCP leadership. As these allegations continue to unfold, the pressure on the YSRCP government to address these issues is likely to grow, with calls for reforms in the education sector and more accountability in the administration.

Bhuma Akhila Priya remains a significant figure in Andhra Pradesh politics, and her recent statements reflect her commitment to holding the current government responsible for its actions. Whether these allegations lead to actual changes in the state's educational policies remains to be seen, but the conversation around the quality of education in Andhra Pradesh is certainly far from over.
