Bengaluru's Peenya Flyover Closed From January 16 To 19: Check Alternative Routes
The Bengaluru traffic police have announced the closure of the Peenya flyover from 11 pm on January 16 to 11 am on January 19 for load testing conducted by the NHAI (National Highway Authority of India). Commuters are urged to seek alternative routes during this period.
In their statement, the Bengaluru police explained, "Due to essential repair and retrofitting work required by the NHAI for the distressed Nelamangala viaduct, a load test is necessary to verify the integrity of the elevated structure (Dr. Shivakumar Swamiji Flyover) on National Highway 4.

The National Highways Authority has requested a complete prohibition of vehicle movement from January 16, 2024, at 11:00 pm to January 19, 2024, at 11 am. All vehicle movements along the Peenya Elevated Highway will be restricted from January 16, 2024, to January 19, 2024."
The Peenya flyover serves as a critical corridor for vehicles entering the city via Nelamangala. To manage traffic inflow and outflow during the upcoming Pongal holidays, Bengaluru police have devised alternative routes.
Here are the suggested alternative routes:
Vehicles traveling from Nelamangala towards Bengaluru city via the flyover are advised to utilize the adjacent NH4 road or the service road to 8th mile. They can then proceed via Dasarahalli, Jalahalli cross, Peenya police station junction, and SRS junction to reach Gorguntepalya.
Vehicles heading from CMTI Junction towards Nelamangala and aiming to reach Parle-G toll are recommended to take the adjacent NH4 service road. Traffic will be directed along the service road from SRS junction via Peenya Police station Junction, Jalahalli cross 8th mile.
