Bengaluru Woman Slapped With Rs 1.36 Lakh Fine For 270 Traffic Violations
A Bengaluru woman received a hefty ₹1.36 lakh fine for repeatedly flouting traffic rules, according to a Times of India report. CCTV footage captured a staggering 270 violations on her Activa scooter, including riding without a helmet, carrying extra passengers, driving on the wrong side, and ignoring traffic signals.
The report states that police flagged the numerous offenses after spotting the woman's disregard for traffic regulations on city cameras. Notices were reportedly sent to her address, urging her to settle the pending fines on her scooter.

This incident highlights Bengaluru police's ongoing crackdown on traffic violators who neglect to pay fines. Authorities across the city are taking a stricter stance, with several scofflaws facing hefty fines exceeding ₹50,000. In February, a resident received a shocking ₹3.2 lakh fine for unpaid violations on their two-wheeler. The police warned of stricter consequences if the dues remained unsettled.
Just weeks ago, joint commissioner of police, MN Anucheth, revealed that over 2,681 vehicles in the city have accumulated traffic fines exceeding ₹50,000. He also mentioned the possibility of FIRs being filed in such cases.
