Bengaluru Triple Murder: Man Kills Wife, Daughter, Niece Over Suspected Infidelity

Bengaluru Triple Murder: Peenya police were stunned when a man carrying a bloodstained machete walked into their station around 5.15pm on Wednesday, claiming he had murdered his wife, child, and his sister-in-law's daughter.

Gangaraju, 40, a home guard employed at the Hebbagodi police station in Bengaluru Urban district, was promptly taken into a room for questioning by senior officers, reported the Times of India.

A team of officers was dispatched to his two-bedroom home in Chokkasandra, Jalahalli, where they discovered the bodies of three women, each with multiple injuries and slit throats.

The victims were identified as Gangaraju's wife Bhagya, 38, his daughter Navya, 19, and Bhagya's sister's daughter Hemavati, 23. Navya was a first-year degree student at a private college, while Hemavati, a divorcee, lived with Gangaraju's family and worked in a private firm. The family, originally from Nelamangala, had been living in the rented house for the past six years.

In his confession to the police, Gangaraju explained that he had long suspected Bhagya of infidelity, leading to frequent arguments between the couple.

"This (Wednesday) afternoon, in a fit of rage, I attacked her with the machete. The two girls tried to stop me and cursed me, saying I was the one at fault. Whenever I'd question Bhagya about her affair, the two girls would support her. I couldn't tolerate this anymore and attacked them with the same machete," Gangaraju said.

After confirming the deaths of the three women, Gangaraju called the police control room to inform them of his actions and stated his intention to surrender. Additional Commissioner of Police (West) Vikash Kumar Vikash confirmed that the killings stemmed from family-related issues and personal disputes.
