In the widely-shared video, the car can be seen halted in the middle of the road as the attackers demanded Anoop step out. When he refused, they hurled stones at the car windows, shattering the glass and injuring the child inside.
A woman in the vehicle, heard screaming in the footage, quickly exited the car. The cause of the altercation is not yet known.
The video quickly went viral on social media, with users calling for action against the perpetrators.
One user commented, "Oh my God! I live close to this area. I haven't seen any police patrolling at night. This is necessary to keep such elements in check."
Another user noted that incidents like this have become more common in Bengaluru.
He wrote, "Is it just me, or has this become frequent along the Sarjapur road stretch lately? Especially around Kasavanahalli, Doddakanneli, and Kaikondrahalli areas. What's happening there? Anyone else feels the same?"
In response, Bengaluru police assured that they would take action against those responsible. The Bellandur police have taken note of the incident.
