Bengaluru Power Outage On September 17: JC Nagar, Jayamahal Extension And Nearby Areas To Brace For Power Cut

Bengaluru power cut on September 17: Certain areas of Bengaluru are set to experience power outages on Tuesday, September 17, due to ongoing maintenance work at a BESCOM electricity station. The Bangalore Electricity Supply Company (BESCOM) has issued a press release informing the public of this development.

The power interruption will occur between 11 AM and 4 PM as BESCOM carries out emergency maintenance at the 220/66/11 kV Hebbal receiving station. Residents in areas including Jayamahal Extension, Nandi Durga Road, Doordarshan, Jayamahal Road, Munireddy Palya, JC Nagar, Marappa Garden, Chinnappa Garden, and ND Road near the Airtel Layout will be affected.

Power Disruptions in Kolar District Starting September 18

In addition to the outages in Bengaluru, residents of Kolar district will also face power interruptions starting from September 18 until October 1. The major works division of the Karnataka Power Transmission Corporation Limited (KPTCL) will be conducting maintenance on the Chintamani-Talagavara power lines.

As a result, 3-phase agricultural power lines supplied by the 66/11 kV substations in Chintamani, Vemagal, Kyalnur, Talagunda, and Talagavara will experience outages between 10 AM and 5 PM. BESCOM officials have requested the cooperation of residents during this period.

Meanwhile, BESCOM has reported significant damage to electricity infrastructure in Bangalore Rural district during the pre-monsoon and monsoon seasons. Since April 1, over 447 electricity poles and 45 transformers have been damaged across two divisions.

Between April 1 and May 31, during the pre-monsoon period, 326 electricity poles and 82 transformers were damaged. This was followed by further damage to 121 poles and 45 transformers from June 1 to the end of August, according to BESCOM officials.
