Late-Night Bomb Threat Email Sends BMRCL Into High Alert; Sender Being Tracked

The Bengaluru Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) has been shaken by a bomb threat email, prompting an investigation by the Bengaluru Police. The email, sent from [email protected], arrived at BMRCL's official address on November 13 at 11:25 pm. The sender accused Metro staff of harassing his ex-wife and threatened to blow up a metro station.

BMRCL Assistant Executive Engineer Ratheesh Thomas confirmed the authenticity of the email and promptly alerted the police on November 14. Initially, a non-cognisable report was filed at Wilson Garden Police Station. However, after obtaining court approval, an FIR was officially registered on November 15.

Security Measures Intensified

In response to the threat, security agencies are expected to enhance surveillance and monitoring across metro stations. The police are actively tracing the email sender and investigating the underlying motive behind this alarming message.

The unknown individual described himself as "like a terrorist" and claimed to be "patriotic against Kannadigas." This statement raised immediate concerns among Metro officials, who are now working closely with law enforcement to ensure public safety.
