Good news for Bengalurians, load shedding slashed

Bengaluru, Sep 16: Bescom has a good news for the Bengalurians, load shedding in the city has been slashed with effect from Wednesday, Sep 16.

The press release by Bescom states that the thermal power and wind generation in the state has increased.

Bescom on Monday, Sep 14, had cut down power cut hours from four to three for domestic consumers, and two to one for industrial/commercial consumers.

A proposal for load shedding in Bengaluru city has been approved by the State Cabinet on Monday, Aug 31.

The installed power production capacity of the state is 10,189 Mega Watt. But the production is about 6,600 MW to 7,300 MW, which leads to a production deficit of 3,000 MW.

Though, initially three hours of power cut was announced, later it was increased to four for domestic consumers. At the same time some parts of the city experienced power cut upto 8 hours.
