Bengaluru CEO Suchana Seth Sought Rs 2.5 Lakh Monthly Amidst Custody Battle, Court Documents Reveal

The details surrounding the alleged murder of the four-year-old boy by his mother, Suchana Seth, the CEO of an AI start-up in Bengaluru, are becoming increasingly convoluted.

Recent revelations from court documents related to a domestic violence case filed by Suchana Seth against her estranged husband shed light on the complexity of their legal battles. In the documents, she sought maintenance of Rs 2.5 lakh per month, citing her husband's monthly income of Rs 9 lakh, as reported by India Today.

Arrested in Karnataka's Chitradurga while traveling from North Goa with her son's body, Suchana Seth faces accusations of killing her child. The court documents have surfaced as part of the ongoing investigation led by the Goa Police, who have been granted custody of Suchana Seth for six days.

Preliminary investigations suggest that Suchana Seth was entangled in a bitter divorce dispute with her estranged spouse, Venkata Raman PR. She had raised domestic violence charges against him and sought the maintenance sum, alleging her husband's annual income exceeded Rs 1 crore.

Suchana Seth claimed to have been living separately since March 2021 due to domestic abuse and provided the court with evidence, including WhatsApp messages, pictures, and medical records, to support her allegations of domestic violence.

Married in Kolkata on November 18, 2010, the couple's son, now deceased, was born on August 14, 2019. According to court documents accessed by India Today, Suchana Seth filed a domestic violence case against Venkata Raman PR in August 2022, during their divorce proceedings.

In this case, she accused her husband of physically abusing her and their son. Raman, who was abroad when the alleged murder occurred in Goa, has denied these allegations before the court.

The domestic violence case was reportedly lodged during their divorce proceedings, leading to a restraining order against the father. Under the terms of the order issued on August 18, 2022, Raman was prohibited from entering Suchana Seth's house or contacting her son. However, he was granted weekly visitation rights, a detail that seemed to upset Suchana Seth.

Allegedly dissatisfied with the court order allowing her estranged husband to meet their son every Sunday, Suchana Seth reportedly plotted to end her son's life, just a day before the scheduled meeting. Sources suggest that she took this extreme step to prevent Raman from exercising his visitation rights, as he had spoken to his son on a video call from Indonesia on January 7, the day before Seth left Goa. Police sources reveal that Suchana Seth had texted Raman on the night of January 6, giving him the opportunity to meet their son.

As the divorce proceedings between Suchana Seth and her husband, Venkat Raman, unfold, the intricacies of their legal battles and the tragic events leading to the death of their son continue to unfold.
