Bengalureans brace yourselves as IMD warns of heavy rainfall this week

Bengaluru, May 5: If you think that last week's showers in Bengaluru was a minor bump to your weekend, well brace yourselves as the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued this week's forecast for the city and it does not look like a good picture.

According to the forecast, Bengaluru is likely to receive heavy rainfall from May 5 to May 9. The forecast also predicts hail or squall with rainfall over 65 mm in many parts of Karnataka.

Last week the city received heavy rainfall and brought traffic to a complete halt specially during peak hours [Powerful storm rocks Bengaluru, many trees uprooted]. April also proved to be the wettest month for the city in the past 14 years.

Thursday, April 30 thunderstorm resulted in many uprooted trees leading to traffic diversions and traffic jams in many parts of the city.
