Anna Hazare, U R Rao to be conferred honorary doctorate

Dr U R Rao and social activist

have been chosen by the Vijayanara Sri Krishnadevaraya

for being conferred the honorary doctorate.

Kannada actor Shivarajkumar is also among the eight persons selected for the honorary doctorate, the University Vice-Chancellor Manjappa Hosamane told reporters.

Others chosen for the honour based on their contributions in their respective fields are Jacot Crasda (education and social science), S P Sharma(education and Science), C R Nazeer Ahmed (social worker), Subadramma Mansor (stage artiste) and Sanga Basavanna Swamy (social work), he said.

The doctorates would be conferred at the University's second convocation tomorrow, which would be addressed by former Governor of Bihar and Jharkhand Rama Jois.
