A Nude Man Runs In Residential Area In Bengaluru; Taken To NIMHANS

A residential area witnessed a bizarre incident on Sunday when a fully naked man ran on the street.

A man named Naveen told Bangalore Mirror that he spotted the nude man running in front of his house and alerted the residents about the incident. "My mind didn't process anything" for a few seconds, he told the publication.

"I didn't go to the office on Sunday and just wanted to go to the street to run some errands, and then suddenly I spotted this middle-aged man running naked. This is a concerning matter because a lot of children also live in the area. I didn't know what to do, so I informed people in the group to be alert," he said.

He was told by his father that the said person had been taken to the National Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences (NIMHANS).

Another resident named Anil claimed that he might have witnessed the same man shouting in the area a few days ago.

"My first instinct was that we should call the police. As we are not very sure what is the background of the case, so we can't handle it on our own. This was the very first incident that I am hearing about a naked man running on the street. However, a few days back, a man was also seen screaming and running in the area," said Anil.

Dr Shashi, a resident of the locality, highlighted the need to take this matter seriously and provide mental health care to the individual.

"Though it is shocking to see such a thing in our area, we don't know what that person is going through. This fellow was also spotted during Deepawali and someone had called the police.

But even the police said that instead of them, the residents should take him to the doctor. Mental health issues are a stigma in our society, but one must handle such cases with sensitivity.

"I have also heard from people that the parents of the person have admitted him to NIMHANS," he said.
