75-Year-Old Bengaluru Woman Dies Outside HSR Layout House; Police Suspect Suicide

In a disturbing incident in Bengaluru's HSR Layout Sector 7, a 75-year-old woman was found dead under unclear circumstances outside her home. The tragedy occurred early Sunday morning, between 3:30 and 4:00 AM, and came to light after her daughter filed a police report.

Police Suspect Suicide

The woman, identified as Vijaylakshmi, is suspected by the police to have taken her own life, although the exact cause of death will only be confirmed after further investigation. Her daughter, Pramila, who resides in KR Puram, was not present at the time of the incident and was informed about her mother's death by other relatives.

'Appeared to Be Mentally Stable,' Says Police

Authorities have not yet ruled out whether Vijaylakshmi's death was a suicide, accidental fall, or something else. A senior officer was quoted by The New Indian Express as saying, "Vijaylakshmi seemed mentally stable and was not reported to be depressed by family members. We are investigating whether age-related health issues led to an accidental fall from the third floor or if she made the tragic decision herself."

Investigation Ongoing

Vijaylakshmi had lost her husband three years ago, followed by the deaths of both her sons. She had been living with her two daughters-in-law and grandsons in the HSR Layout residence. The HSR Layout police are currently investigating the case.
