Google Expands AI Mode In Search To 180 Countries, Adding Restaurant Reservation Features
Google has expanded its AI Mode in Search to 180 countries, introducing enhanced restaurant reservation features and personalisation options for users.
Google is expanding its AI Mode in Search to 180 countries and territories, previously available only in the US, UK, and India. This feature, still limited to English, offers a conversational search experience to millions more users. Alongside this global rollout, Google is introducing enhanced capabilities for AI Mode, starting with restaurant reservations.
Subscribers to Google AI Ultra can now use AI Mode to inquire about dining options by specifying details like date, time, location, party size, and cuisine preference. Once a request is made, AI Mode scans reservation platforms and restaurant websites to find suitable options. "You can then choose from a list of restaurants and reservation slots," Google explained.

Enhanced Booking Capabilities
Google has partnered with platforms such as OpenTable, Resy, Tock, Ticketmaster, StubHub, SeatGeek, and Booksy to facilitate these new booking features. Users can try this feature by enabling the "Agentic capabilities in AI Mode" experiment in Labs. This collaboration aims to streamline the reservation process for users.
In addition to global expansion, Google is improving personalisation for US users who have opted into AI Mode via Labs. Currently focused on dining topics, this feature allows AI Mode to reference past interactions like previous searches or clicked results. For instance, if you've searched for Italian eateries before, similar suggestions may be prioritised when you seek a lunch spot.
Sharing Made Simple
To enhance user experience further, Google is introducing a new "Share" button for AI Mode results in the US. This feature enables users to copy a link of their AI-powered chat and share it with friends or family. Shared results can be viewed or deleted anytime, offering users more control over their shared information.
With these updates, Google aims to position AI Mode not just as a search tool but as a personalised assistant. This reshapes how people find and share information using Google's services.
