Google AI Mode Feature Now Available In India - Enhanced Search Experience

Google's AI Mode feature in Search, initially launched in the United States, is now available in India. This feature allows users to perform more intricate search queries. Users have praised its "speed, quality and fresh responses." The AI Mode is currently accessible through Google Labs in English.

The AI Mode utilises a customised version of Gemini 2.5, enabling users to ask "longer, more complex and nuanced questions." Previously, such inquiries would need multiple searches. For instance, users can request creative indoor activities for energetic children aged 4 and 7 without needing much space or costly toys.

Enhanced Search Capabilities

Google's new feature employs a "query fan-out technique," which dissects questions into subtopics and conducts several searches on behalf of the user. This method allows access to real-time sources like Knowledge Graph, providing information about the real world and facilitating shopping for billions of products.

The AI Mode also supports multimodal capabilities. Users can ask questions using voice, text or by uploading an image. To use voice mode, tap the microphone and speak your query in AI mode. This is particularly useful for obtaining answers to lengthy questions while on the move.

Lens Features Integration

Google has integrated Lens features into AI Mode. This addition helps users inquire about objects they are viewing. For example, if you receive a new plant as a gift and wish to learn more about it, open the Google app on Android or iOS, take a photo and ask for details about the plant along with care instructions.
