YSRCP Rajya Sabha MP Ryaga Krishnaiah Resigns, Likely To Joins Chandrababu Naidu's TDP
The Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) in Andhra Pradesh faced another big jolt after their Rajya Sabha member and senior leader Ryaga Krishnaiah resigned from his position. This makes him the third leader to leave the party after its poor performance in both Assembly and Lok Sabha elections.
YSRCP leaders P Anil Kumar Yadav and K Karumuri Nageswar Rao have accused Krishnaiah of aligning with TDP head and Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu. They expressed their disappointment over his resignation, claiming that Naidu is buying leaders to cover up his governance failures.

Allegations Against Naidu
The YSRCP leaders alleged that Naidu's actions are destabilising the state and undermining democracy. They stated that former CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy had trusted Krishnaiah, who is from Telangana, to work for the upliftment of backward classes (BCs). Despite having capable leaders within YSRCP, Reddy gave Krishnaiah a Rajya Sabha seat to represent BCs in Parliament.
Yadav and Rao believe that Krishnaiah's departure will not weaken their party. They are confident that the public will respond strongly against such tactics when the time comes. "Chandrababu is using such tactics to cover up his failure in providing effective governance," they said in a release.
Krishnaiah's Perspective
On his part, Ryaga Krishnaiah mentioned that he has been advocating for increased quotas for backward classes in local bodies and addressing other BC issues. He felt he was being perceived as a YSR Congress leader, which influenced his decision to resign.
Krishnaiah's resignation follows a series of desertions from YSRCP. Recently, Rajya Sabha MPs Mopidevi Venkataramana Rao and Beedha Mastan Rao Yadav also left their posts. With this latest resignation, YSRCP now has nine members remaining in the Rajya Sabha.
