Stone Attack On CM Jagan Mohan Reddy During Memantha Siddham Yatra In Vijayawada

According to the reports, some unidentified assailants hurled stones at Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy during Memantha Siddham Yatra In Vijayawada today. The reports said CM Reddy received a minor injury on his forehead close to the left eye.

Chief Minister was immediately provided the first aid on his bus. Along with the CM, YSRCP MLA Vellampalli also sustained an injury in his left eye.

Soon after receiving medical attention, Chief Minister continued his roadshow and met party workers and supporters.

A few YSRCP leaders alleged that the attack was done by Telugu Desam Party (TDP) workers, who were hiding in the public.

Shedding light on the saddening and shocking incident, an official statement from the Chief Minister's Office said, "The stone struck the CM while he was acknowledging the crowds as part of his bus tour at Vivekananda School Centre in Singh Nagar, Vijayawada."

The stone hit Reddy at a very high velocity and officials suspect that it could have been launched from a catapult, prompting the people standing around him atop the bus to wipe his forehead with a handkerchief initially, shows a video doing round the internet.

Reddy has embarked on a 21-day election campaign bus tour from Idupulupaya in the Kadapa district to Icchapuram in the Srikakulam district.

According to the announcement made by the Election Commission of India (ECI), Andhra Pradesh state assembly's 175 seats will also go under polling along with 25 Lok Sabha seats in a single phase on May 13, 2024. The counting of votes is scheduled for June 4, 2024.
