Pawan Kalyan Eyeing Deputy CM Post In Andhra Cabinet: Reports

Actor-turned-politician Pawan Kalyan is eyeing the chair of Deputy Chief Minister in the Andhra Pradesh cabinet. As TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu is all set to be sworn-in as the CM, Kalyan has also sought five Cabinet posts for his party, Janasena.

The NDA swept the AP Assembly, winning 164 out of 175 seats, with TDP bagging 135, Janasena 21, and BJP 8 seats, respectively.

Janasena MLAs unanimously elected Pawan Kalyan as the floor leader in the Andhra Pradesh Assembly on Tuesday. This move took place ahead of the NDA legislators' meeting to elect TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu as their leader in the House.

The Andhra Pradesh Assembly session will commence on June 17 with the swearing-in of MLAs, followed by the election of the Speaker on the next day.

The cabinet allocation within NDA will see 25 seats distributed - 20 going to TDP, 3 to Janasena along with the DyCM post (likely to be Pawan Kalyan), and two to BJP.

Meanwhile, Chandrababu's son and TDP leader Nara Lokesh has expressed hesitation in taking a ministerial position, preferring to work within the party structure instead.
