ISRO chief Prays At Tirumala Temple: What's The Special Occasion?

Ahead of its landmark 100th launch, the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) has received divine blessings for its upcoming mission. Dr. V. Narayanan, ISRO's Chairman, accompanied by a team of scientists, visited the Lord Venkateswara temple in Tirumala on Tuesday. The team offered prayers for the success of the GSLV-F15/NVS-02 rocket launch, a milestone event in India's space journey, as reported by Hindustan Times.

During their visit, Dr. Narayanan and the ISRO team placed a model of the GSLV-F15 rocket at the feet of the deity. The scientists performed a special prayer, seeking the Lord's blessings for the success of the mission, which is set to take place tomorrow at Sriharikota.

In an interaction with ANI, Dr. Narayanan expressed his gratitude for the Prime Minister's approval of ₹400 crore to fund the construction of a third launch pad at ISRO's Sriharikota facility. He emphasized how this new infrastructure would enable the launch of heavier rockets into space, further advancing ISRO's capabilities.

GSLV-F15/NVS-02 Rocket Launch: A Historic Moment

The GSLV-F15/NVS-02 mission, carrying the NVS-02 navigation satellite, is poised to make history as ISRO's 100th launch from Sriharikota. The rocket is scheduled to lift off at 6:23 AM from the second launch pad. This milestone will not only celebrate ISRO's past achievements but will also pave the way for India's future advancements in space exploration, as reported by Hindustan Times.

Strengthening India's Navigation Systems

The NVS-02 satellite will be placed into Geosynchronous Transfer Orbit (GTO) by the GSLV-F15 rocket. The mission marks a significant step in enhancing India's NavIC system-India's independent regional navigation satellite system. NavIC provides accurate Position, Velocity, and Timing (PVT) services across India and its neighboring regions, improving the accuracy of navigation and satellite-based services, as per media reports.

With a mission like GSLV-F15/NVS-02, ISRO continues its journey to strengthen satellite infrastructure, enhancing both the nation's space capabilities and its navigation systems. This successful launch is expected to improve the precision of NavIC services, further solidifying India's role in the global space community.

As ISRO celebrates this monumental milestone, the launch of GSLV-F15/NVS-02 stands as a testament to India's growing strength in space technology and its ability to push the boundaries of scientific advancement.
