Andhra Pradesh: Know How To Apply For NTR Bharosa Pension Scheme
Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has started distributing ₹4,408 crore in social security pensions under the NTR Bharosa Pension Scheme. This initiative, launched in Penumaka village within the Mangalagiri Assembly segment, covers 28 different categories and benefits 65.31 lakh participants across Andhra Pradesh.
Enhanced Pension Amounts
From July 1, 2024, pensioners will receive an enhanced amount of ₹7,000, which includes arrears for April, May, and June. Starting August, the regular pension amount of ₹4,000 will resume. Individuals with disabilities will get ₹6,000 monthly, while those with chronic illnesses will receive ₹10,000 per month.

The TDP Government led by N.T. Rama Rao initiated pensions for the needy in 1994-1995 with a monthly bill of just ₹35. Mr. Naidu mentioned that the future monthly pension bill is expected to be around ₹33,100 crore.

Mr. Naidu emphasized that this marks a new era in welfare but blamed the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) for many people's suffering and older adults' issues. He highlighted that this scheme aims to alleviate such problems and provide better support to those in need.
The enhanced pension amounts aim to provide substantial financial relief to beneficiaries. All other pensioners not receiving ₹4,000 will also see increased amounts starting July 1, 2024.
This initiative is part of a broader effort to improve social security measures in Andhra Pradesh. By increasing pension amounts and expanding coverage categories, the government aims to ensure better living conditions for its citizens.
The distribution of pensions under this scheme signifies a significant step towards enhancing social welfare in Andhra Pradesh. It reflects the government's commitment to supporting vulnerable sections of society through financial aid and improved social security measures.
